Using Colors with Controls

Default colors

By default, your GUI ScreenIO application will use the standard Microsoft Windows^® color scheme selected by the end-user in the Windows Display Properties dialog.  This is the color scheme that's applied to all applications. 

This is one of the nice things about Windows applications; the user can choose an appearance they prefer for all of their applications.  It also means that you, as a developer, don't (and generally, shouldn't) need to take colors into account when you design your GUI ScreenIO application.

Occasionally, however, you may find it useful to override the default color scheme.  You can override the background and foreground (text) colors of most controls by calling up the control's properties (right-click in the control and select Colors) and choosing a color in the color dialog.

Changing control colors in your program

It is also possible to change the color of most controls from your program.  You do this by defining named colors in the panel editor, and then moving that color to the control's color attribute when you want to change its color.
