GUI ScreenIO Client Server License

License

You may install the GUI ScreenIO Server on one computer, and you must obtain a license and registration key (or keys) for each copy of the server.  If Server Farms are employed, each server in the "farm" must have a separate license.  Licenses and registration keys are supplied by NORCOM after a payment of a fee.  Annual License renewal is required and renewal fees are extremely economical.

The server may be used for testing without a key.  It will only service one client for a limited time without a license/key.

The free version of the Network Clients may be downloaded (free of charge) from the NORCOM Website and installed on any number of computers.

The Licensed version of the Network Client (which provides additional functionality) may only be installed on a single workstation.  (The free version becomes a licensed version and provided additional functionality upon entering a Key provided by NORCOM after payment of the license fee.)

Prohibited Use

The GUI ScreenIO TCP/IP interface may not be used for the purpose of sending Bulk Unsolicited Commercial Electronic Mail ("Spam"), which is defined as electronic mail sent to a total of more than 50 recipients for the purpose of advertising a commercial product or service, unless the addressee has explicitly indicated a desire to receive such mail.

The Client Server may not be used in violation of any laws or as a means of distributing any files or data that would be illegal to possess or distribute.

Warranty

Today's software is exceedingly complex and we have expended a considerable amount of effort to ensure that GUI ScreenIO Client Server operates substantially as documented.

NORCOM does not, however, warrant that GUI ScreenIO Client Server is perfect, or bug free.

If a bug is reported, NORCOM will evaluate the report and if a bug is identified, NORCOM will correct it in a timely manner.

Since data transmitted across unsecured networks (such as the internet) is at risk of interception or unauthorized access, NORCOM advises you to take appropriate security measures (such as use or our licensed  clients which provide encryption) and will not be held liable for such interception or access of data.

Testing Applications Developed for use with GUI ScreenIO Client Server

The server operates on any version of Microsoft Windows 95, Me, NT, 2000, 2003, XP, however NORCOM STRONGLY recommends Windows 2000, 2003 Server, or XP as a server platform. You are responsible for the proper selection of hardware and operating system to meet your needs.

You assume the risk of testing applications developed with GUI ScreenIO for use with the Client Server and ensuring they work correctly.

Mission-critical Applications

If you use GUI ScreenIO Client Server to develop a mission-critical application, you should test it thoroughly to ensure that it works as expected.  We STRONGLY recommend only our LICENSED clients be used for critical data over un-trusted networks (such as the internet) because only licensed clients provide data encryption.

Damages

NORCOM will not be liable for consequential damages or losses attributed to errors in GUI ScreenIO Client Server, even if we have been notified of the potential for such damages.  The sole decision with regard to suitability of this product for your needs rests with you.
